Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 23, 2026

Swipsy ("we", "our", or "the app") is a photo gallery cleaning application developed by Reserved Technologies. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. The most important thing first: your photos and videos never leave your device.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Photo Library Access: Swipsy requests permission to access your photo library (iOS lets you grant full or limited access) to show you your photos and videos so you can decide what to keep or delete. All processing happens locally on your device; we never upload, copy, or transmit your content.
  • Purchase Information: If you buy Swipsy Pro (weekly subscription or one-time lifetime purchase), payment is processed by Apple (App Store). We do not collect or store your payment details.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Anonymous Identifier: We use RevenueCat to manage purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous ID to your device — no email, name, or account is required. This ID is used solely to validate your access to Swipsy Pro and restore purchases.
  • Anonymized Product Events: We use PostHog to understand how the app is used (for example, how many photos are reviewed or deleted in a session). We enforce a strict property allowlist: the content, file names, and URIs of your photos are never sent.
  • Marketing Attribution: To measure the effectiveness of our ad campaigns, Swipsy uses AppsFlyer (a mobile measurement platform) and integrates Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT). If you accept the ATT prompt, AppsFlyer may access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and share attribution data —such as app install, trial starts, and purchases— with advertising networks like TikTok and Meta, solely to attribute and measure our ads. If you decline the prompt, your IDFA is not used and measurement is limited to privacy-preserving methods (such as Apple's SKAdNetwork). Swipsy shows no ads inside the app. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Crash Reports: We use Sentry to receive crash reports and improve app stability. Reports go through personal information filtering (PII scrubbing) before being sent.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not upload, copy, or transmit your photos or videos: they never leave your device.
  • We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifiable information.
  • We do not require account creation or login, and we do not operate our own servers that receive your data.
  • We do not access your contacts, location, or microphone.
  • We do not sell your personal data or share the content of your photos or videos with third parties.

3. 100% On-Device Processing

Unlike other apps, Swipsy does not send your photos or videos to any server. Here is how it works:

  • Local analysis: Organizing by months, screenshots, bursts, and heavy videos is computed directly on your device using the iOS photo library.
  • No cloud, no accounts: We do not operate servers that receive your content, and no feature uploads your photos. There is nothing to sign up for and nowhere to log in.
  • Safe deletion: Deleting requires the iOS system confirmation, and what you delete moves to the iOS "Recently Deleted" album for 30 days, where you can recover it.
  • Limited access supported: If you grant limited photo library access, Swipsy only sees the photos you select, and you can expand or revoke the permission at any time.

Important: Your photos and videos never leave your device. Swipsy has no accounts, no cloud of its own, and cannot see your content.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • Local data: Your progress, preferences, and the free plan counter are stored on your device and protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).
  • Data in third-party services: The only things that leave your device are anonymized events (PostHog), PII-free crash reports (Sentry), the anonymous purchase ID (RevenueCat), and, if you accept tracking (ATT), marketing attribution data (AppsFlyer). All communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
  • No cloud backup: Swipsy does not upload your photos or videos to any cloud. If you use iCloud Photos, that sync is managed by Apple under its own policy, not by Swipsy.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

ServicePurpose
Apple App StorePayment and subscription processing
RevenueCatPurchase management and Swipsy Pro access (anonymous ID)
PostHogAnonymized product analytics
SentryCrash reporting (with PII scrubbing)
AppsFlyerMarketing attribution and campaign measurement (with your ATT consent)
TikTok and MetaAdvertising networks that receive attribution data to measure our ads

6. Children's Privacy

Swipsy is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your Rights

  • Delete your data: Uninstall the app to delete all local data. For anonymized events and crash reports, contact us and we will delete the data associated with your anonymous ID.
  • Control tracking and photo access: You can turn ad tracking on or off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and change or revoke photo library access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
  • Cancel subscription: Manage your subscription in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. You can also restore your purchases from within the app.

8. Data Retention

  • Local data: Retained until you uninstall the app. Photos you delete remain for 30 days in the iOS "Recently Deleted" album (managed by Apple) before being permanently removed.
  • Third-party data: PostHog events and Sentry reports are anonymized, never contain your content, and are retained according to each service's retention periods.
  • Purchase and attribution data: RevenueCat retains the anonymous transaction record to validate and restore your purchases; AppsFlyer and the advertising networks retain attribution data according to their own retention policies.

9. Subscriptions & Lifetime Purchase

Swipsy Pro is available as a weekly auto-renewable subscription (with a free trial) or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage and cancel it in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not renew.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app and on our website. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
