Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions form an agreement between you (the user) and Reserved Technologies, and govern your use of the RoVoice application and related services. By downloading, accessing, or using RoVoice, you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree, you must not use the app.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, downloading, or using RoVoice, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you use RoVoice on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to accept these terms on its behalf. You must meet the minimum legal age required in your jurisdiction to enter into a binding contract. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service.

2. Description of the service

RoVoice is a voice-notes application that records audio (including in the background or with the screen locked), transcribes it, labels speakers ("who said what"), and generates AI summaries, key points, and action items. It includes additional features such as semantic search ("search by meaning") and full-text search, AI diagrams (flowcharts and mind maps), images generated from summaries, handwritten-style study pages, export to PDF, text, docx, and srt, summaries in a language different from the audio, folder organization, optional YouTube link import, and, on higher tiers, shared folders and cross-device sync. Transcription is performed by AssemblyAI and summaries by OpenAI. The service is available in many languages.

3. Accounts

An account is required to transcribe and save recordings. You can sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time code sent to your email (managed through our provider Supabase). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You may delete your account at any time from the app's Settings; deletion is permanent and irreversible and removes your recordings.

4. Subscriptions and payments

  • Billing: Paid subscriptions are sold as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are managed through the Adapty platform. Charges are processed through your App Store or Google Play account.
  • Plans: We offer a limited free tier plus the paid tiers Personal, Pro, and Studio, available on a monthly or annual basis. The plans differ in monthly transcription quota, export formats, search, audio retention window, speaker-name customization, shared folders, and other features.
  • Free trial: We offer a 7-day free trial. At the end of the trial period, the subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal charge is applied through your App Store or Google Play account.
  • Management and cancellation: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your store account settings (iOS: apple.com/account/subscriptions; Android: in your Google Play account settings). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Restore purchases: If you switch devices or reinstall the app, you can recover an active subscription using the "Restore purchases" feature within the app.
  • Prices: Prices vary by region and plan and are shown at the time of purchase before you confirm it.

5. Recording consent and user responsibility

You are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws regarding the recording of conversations, including obtaining any required consent from the other parties before recording. Recording laws vary by jurisdiction and, in some places, require the consent of everyone involved. You agree not to use RoVoice to record unlawfully or to violate the privacy rights of others. Reserved Technologies is not responsible for how you use your recordings or for any legal violation arising from such use.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use RoVoice for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Record conversations without the consent required by applicable law
  • Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties
  • Attempt to breach, circumvent, or compromise the security of the service
  • Perform automated or bulk extraction of third-party content
  • Import YouTube links that you did not initiate yourself or that violate the source platform's terms
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the service without our authorization

7. Your content and ownership

  • Ownership: You retain ownership of your recordings, transcripts, and notes. RoVoice does not claim ownership of your content and does not use it for advertising purposes.
  • License: By using the service, you grant RoVoice a limited license to store and process your content (for example, to upload the audio, transcribe it, and summarize it) solely to provide you with the app's features.
  • Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the content you record, upload, or generate, as well as for the legality of that content and for holding the rights necessary to process it through the service.

8. RoVoice's intellectual property

The RoVoice application, including its software, design, trademarks, logos, interfaces, and all content provided by us, is owned by Reserved Technologies and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms grant you no rights over our intellectual property other than the limited, personal, revocable, and non-transferable right to use the app in accordance with these terms. You may not copy, modify, decompile, or create derivative works of the app except to the extent permitted by law.

9. Third-party services and data

RoVoice relies on third-party providers to deliver its features, including Supabase, AssemblyAI, OpenAI, Adapty, PostHog, Sentry, Meta, Supadata, and Cloudflare R2. These providers process certain data on our behalf to enable transcription, summaries, payments, and the general operation of the service. How your data is handled is described in detail in our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

10. AI accuracy and disclaimer of warranties

Transcriptions and AI-generated summaries, diagrams, and images may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. They are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. You must not rely on them as, or as a substitute for, professional advice (legal, medical, or financial). You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any important information before acting on it.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Reserved Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of, or inability to use, RoVoice. The service is provided "as is" and "as available." Our total aggregate liability relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the subscription during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Reserved Technologies, its officers, employees, and providers from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of RoVoice, your content, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right, including laws applicable to the recording of conversations.

13. Termination

You may stop using RoVoice and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the service if you breach these terms, use the service unlawfully, or use it in any way that could harm other users, third parties, or Reserved Technologies. Upon termination of your account, your right to use the service ceases immediately and your content may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the State of Mexico.

15. Apple-specific provisions (iOS)

For the iOS application, these Terms are entered into solely between you and Reserved Technologies, and not with Apple. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide maintenance or support services for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); other than that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any third-party claims relating to the app's intellectual property. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Auto-renewable subscriptions are governed by Apple's standard terms and are managed from your App Store account.

16. Changes to the terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in the service, in the law, or in our practices. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you through the app. Your continued use of RoVoice after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
